CleanM8 becomes BestLifeM8
When CleanM8 was first conceived as a recovery focussed concept, we were spending time in discovery interviews with folks who'd actively wrestled with addiction and the clinicians working to support them, recognising the need for a useful, self descriptive title for our work that was aspirational and reflected steps in a new direction, using familiar language.
We've been a little torn over the use of the title in our work, knowing that whilst it works for some, it doesn't for others. So today, we're making some changes, with a rework of our initiative and its branding, to reflect a new direction that is clear, identifies a target state that people are aiming for and remains inclusive of a range of potential conditions so our underlying innovations can service more than one area of need.
BestLifeM8 is still, at its core, a fusion of concepts that look to how we can use #tech4good patterns and positive computing to augment clinical and patient work that helps people on track to a better life. We're still actively exploring the relevance of a digital therapeutic alliance to make a positive impact for the populations we serve, but know it was time for a fresh direction.
Behind the scenes, it's been a tough battle recovering from a 2018 MVA that brought everything to a halt for the best part of 2+yrs, happening soon after the RAI Bright Ideas challenge win. It's highlighted how fragile life is and how, despite best intentions, sometimes life needs to be stripped back to basics to rebuild again, with gratitude, peace and resolve. Whilst a large pause may have occurred, progress was still being made behind the scenes, just with smaller footsteps. Life has a way of forcing your pace to change and it can take some time to listen to the messages in that.
Here's to moving on with increasing speed, integrating the work and perspectives of our alliance partners and the things learnt over that period.
